In the beginning, COVID-19 presented a steep learning curve for all of us. We knew very little and were suddenly overwhelmed with information; guidance and policies were changing constantly. The media was relentless and at times added to the confusion.
The partnership between Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH), Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) and Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC), which created the CARE4 Health Information System (HIS) across the four sites in 2021, has reached another significant milestone by attaining Stage 6 of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM).
I have been a Geriatric Nurse in the Emergency Department at Headwaters for the past 12 years. I help older adults live at home longer, prevent any unnecessary visits/admissions to the hospital and reduce prolonged stays.
Ashley joined our Patient Family Advisory Partnership in November 2018 following her mother’s admission to D-Wing.
While visiting her mom in the family lounge, a few staff members approached her about a hospital renovation project in the space and asked her thoughts on the work underway. Later, one of those staff members returned and asked if she would be interested in joining the Patient Family Advisory Partnership.
