Liz is a member of our Nutrition Services team and has been a part of Headwaters for over 30 years. Liz became a member of the team in 1989 as the Supervisor of Nutrition Services in the Dufferin Area Hospital. Thirty years ago, patients filled out menus and sent them to the Nutrition Office. Meal trays were assembled by a hot steam table service then delivered by Dietary Aids. Everything was manual and customized.
Art was experiencing discomfort in his elbow from a growth that had developed due to gout.
The growth consisted of a buildup of scar tissue that had fused with his bone.
After meeting with his family physician, a plan was set in motion to have it surgically removed at our hospital by Dr. Nicholas Yardley, Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Jennifer is a Clinical Resource Nurse at Headwaters who has a rich history with our hospital. Jennifer was raised at Headwaters; both parents worked here for their entire careers which spanned close to 40 years. With her mother (Lori) a nurse and father (Jim) a paramedic, Jennifer grew up knowing the hospital intimately including the staff and physicians.
Lucy is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in our Obstetrics Department. She graduated in 1985 from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and from the University of Toronto in 1990 with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. She worked as a manager at Georgetown Hospital for a number of years and then a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at William Osler from 2002 to 2010 when she moved to Headwaters as a CNS.
Russ was getting ready to join his family at Balsam Lake Resort but little did he know that when we went to bed feeling poorly, and wasn’t interested in eating the following day, he was in the throes of a serious medical emergency. Thankfully those living around him knew he needed help, and fast.
