  • Denise's Story

    Last month marked Denise’s 21st Anniversary working with us, starting her career in July 2001 at the Shelburne District Hospital.

    When Denise first joined us, it was as a member of the Environmental Services team where she would assist with laundry. She also spent time in housekeeping throughout the hospital and as part of our Nutrition Services team.

  • Bobbi Jo's Story

    Bobbi Jo started her career with us at the Dufferin Area Hospital in 1991 as a registered nursing student. She feels privileged to have had two wonderful preceptors, who she has since worked alongside for years after completing her placement.  

  • Phyllis' Story

    Phyllis holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in English from York University, a diploma in Book and Magazine Publishing from Centennial College and a diploma in Medical Transcription from Thomas Education.  

    Phyllis joined our team in 2000 as a float clerk where she provided coverage for others as they took breaks. In 2010 she assumed a part-time position with our registration team. 

  • Chris' Story

    Chris joined our team on September 1, 1991, as a part-time nurse in our OR and after 12 years she accepted a full-time position.

    Just six years into her career with us, Chris was part of the move from the old hospital to our current location on Rolling Hills Drive. The recent 25th Anniversary celebrations of the move have stirred a range of wonderful memories for her.

  • Smiling Behind the Mask

    Audrey is a dietary technician at our hospital, in this role she determines the nutritional needs of patients by speaking with them and reviewing their diet history.  

  • Joycelyn's Journey

    When Joycelyn’s phone rang and the call display said Headwaters, the day after she had a mammogram, she knew the news would not be what she had hoped for.

  • Making the Right Call

    Janis is a 67-year-old retired high school teacher and librarian whose days consist of maintaining a 40-acre farm, splitting wood on her forest lot, raising 25 cattle, and carrying out endless chores alongside her devoted husband, Doug.

  • Lois' Story

    “We have to remember, we were all students at one time, and if we don’t support them, we aren’t going to have anyone to take over for us down the road,” said Lois.

  • Meet Dr. Paul Scotton, Chief of Emergency Medicine

    Having worked at our hospital for 32 years, Dr. Paul Scotton, Chief of Emergency Medicine, has shared in many of the more difficult times in our history. This pandemic was certainly a challenge unlike any other he had experienced in his career.

  • Supporting the Whole Person

    Coming from a long line of family members who have volunteered at our hospital, as well as having given birth to two of her three children here, Pamela knew this was where she wanted to give back.
