General Internal Medicine

Permanent position, as well as part time locum positions, available in Orangeville for General Internal Medicine. We are a group of six General Internal Medicine specialists supporting a catchment area of 100,000, at a hospital with 75 beds.
Orangeville is a charming and quaint community with great amenities for young families, outdoor enthusiasts, or anyone wanting the benefits of a small town only one hour north of downtown Toronto.
As an internist at Headwaters, you will be participating in a one in six call rotation, doing emergency room consults, admissions, and ward work. You will cover a Level-two 4 bed ICU, with roughly 40 ventilator patients per year. Call is from home with expectation of availability at the hospital within 20 minutes of telephone contact. We have onsite hospitalist program, nephrology with dialysis, diabetic care, and visiting oncology specialists. We have excellent relationships with referring centers for intensive care, stroke, and cardiology.
We do our own outpatient stress, nuclear stress, and pulmonary function tests. We also perform a wide range of bedside procedures. There is office space for lease within close proximity to the hospital.
Our community practices are ever growing and we are looking for assistance in supporting the general medical outpatient referrals and follow-ups. There are over 60 local family doctors, four general surgeons, four obstetricians, two plastic surgeons, and subspecialty surgeons in ENT, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, and Urology. We welcome general internists and those with specific sub-specialty interests to apply.
The ideal candidate would support our goals of providing high quality local internal medicine care (both hospital and community based), collaborating with internists and other hospital- and community-based colleagues, and maintaining quality work life balance.
