Stuffed Animals Welcome! Headwaters Hosts Annual Teddy Bear Clinic
ORANGEVILLE, ON (August 25, 2025) Headwaters Health Care Centre is excited to welcome children, and their favourite stuffed toys, to our beloved Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 100 Rolling Hills Drive, Orangeville.
This free, carnival-style event turns a trip to the hospital into a playful adventure, helping kids feel more comfortable in health care settings. Children will guide their stuffed friends through the full hospital journey including triage, diagnostic imaging, a check-up with a Headwaters health care professional, and a visit to Teddy Pharmacy. Plus, a new addition to the Clinic is Teddy Hygiene, where proper handwashing techniques will be taught in a fun, interactive way.
This year, families can look forward to exciting new activities alongside the event’s classic favorites. Animal lovers can climb aboard the Zoom Zoo to meet some adorable farm animals up close. Is your child a big fan of emergency services? Have them come interact with police officers, firefighters, and our very own Dufferin County Paramedic Services. Creative minds can enjoy Teddy Crafts by painting a river rock for the hospital gardens and taking one home as a reminder of the Clinic experience. Children can also enjoy face painting, games, and a BBQ (nominal fees apply to food and beverages).
Juliann McArthur, Manager of Patient Experience and head of the Teddy Bear Clinic, says, “This year, we’re especially excited to introduce new activities like Teddy Hygiene, Teddy Crafts, and the Zoom Zoo! These additions bring even more opportunities for kids to learn, be creative, and explore the hospital in a fun, hands-on way, while still enjoying all their favorite returning stations. It’s a day full of discovery, laughter, and imagination for the whole family.”
The event is free and open to the public, and families are encouraged to bring along their favorite stuffed animals for a day full of learning and creating memories. Pre-registration can be done online, although it is not required.
