Headwaters' 2025 Take Your Kids To Work Day

ORANGEVILLE, ON (November 5, 2025) – Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) welcomed 16 Grade 9 students for Take Your Kids to Work Day on November 5, giving them an opportunity to explore the exciting possibilities of a future career in health care. 

The day offers students a unique opportunity to explore the inner workings of the hospital and gain insight into their family members’ roles, with the hope of inspiring them to one day care for their community as part of a health care team.  

“We were thrilled to host our special guests and provide them with a chance to experience the day-to-day activities of our dedicated healthcare team,” said Juliann McArthur, Manager, Patient Experience, and Volunteer Services. “Events like this inspire curiosity and provide students with a better understanding of the vital roles our staff and their family members play in the community.” 

Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of hands-on activities, including a hospital tour, a simulation of CPR and ventilation techniques with ‘Manny the Mannequin’, and a mini-surgical lab led by Headwaters Chief of Staff and Vice President of Medical Affairs, Dr. Grace Wang.  

These experiences offered students a behind-the-scenes look at hospital operations and the collaborative work involved in patient care, with the goal of inspiring them to enter the health care field as doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrators.  

“Take Your Kids to Work Day was an amazing experience! Visiting the hospital taught me a lot about how everything works and the different roles that keep it running. It was also great to meet other students with similar career interests,” said Norah Huizinga, whose mother is a member of the Finance team.  

Headwaters Health Care Centre thanks all the students who joined for this special day of learning and exploration.
