Bobbi Jo's Story

Registered Nurse

Bobbi Jo started her career with us at the Dufferin Area Hospital in 1991 as a registered nursing student. She feels privileged to have had two wonderful preceptors, who she has since worked alongside for years after completing her placement.

In 1991 Bobbi Jo completed the nursing program at Georgian College and worked part-time for several years at our hospital. This allowed her flexibility to be home with her young children; all three of which were born here.

“My favorite memory at Headwaters would be having my three children. These were some of the happiest times in my life and provided me opportunity to experience the skill and kindness of my coworkers,” shared Bobbi Jo.

Bobbi Jo worked on the medical floor at the Dufferin Area Hospital briefly before being part of the move to our current location at 100 Rolling Hills Drive. Over the years she has been involved in staff education, various projects, and advisory committees. She is also an active member on the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

“I have been lucky to work with some wonderful people. I love being part of sharing a laugh, story, or celebration.  I have also enjoyed many great moments with patients sharing in some of their excitement and achievements,” shared Bobbi Jo.

Bobbi Jo graduated in 2016 from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has worked as a float nurse as well as a resource nurse. She has been fortunate to have tremendous support from her co-workers and work alongside her mentors during her journey with us.

Five years ago, Bobbie Jo joined the Surgical Perioperative team on a full-time basis where she enjoys being part of a small group. In this role Bobbi Jo helps to receive patients post operatively, recover them, and prepare them for the next step in their journey whether that be day surgery, inpatient care, home, or transfer.

“I have been fortunate to work with some of my coworkers for decades. Janet, who is also part of the Surgical Perioperative team, has worked closely with me for over 20 years. We run together and participate in different sporting events outside of work. It has been wonderful to watch our families grow up together,” shared Bobbi Jo.

This year marks Bobbi Jo’s 30th Anniversary with our hospital; a tremendous milestone that we are proud to be part of. Thank you for your years of dedication and service to our hospital and the community we serve.
