Oncology

Headwater’s oncology program is a satellite oncology outpatient service with William Osler Health System (Osler).  Headwaters offers intravenous chemotherapy treatment, and oncology appointments take place at Osler. This partnership allows more cancer patients in our community to receive timely access to chemotherapy close to home.

Patients who become unwell during treatment and schedule appointments at Osler to see their oncologist. Patients who have completed the chemotherapy treatment portion of their cancer care will receive their follow-up care with their oncologist at Osler. This means that patients will be able to communicate directly with their oncologist, a specialist in the treatment of their type of cancer.

Patients will have access to additional services at Osler such as research trials, a survivorship clinic, and other clinical service providers such as dietitians, social workers, and cardio-oncology clinics.

About the program partnership

Headwater’s outpatient oncology program is part of a Regional Cancer Program within Cancer Care Ontario, which is an integral part of Ontario Health.
