Diabetes is a disease that happens when your body either isn’t able to produce insulin (a hormone produced in your pancreas which transports sugar to the cells in your body to be used as energy) or can’t properly use the insulin it produces.

There are three main types of Diabetes:
  • Type 2 – Is the most common form of Diabetes which occurs when your body produces insulin but may not be able to use it effectively
  • Type 1 – In this type of Diabetes, the body doesn’t produce insulin. People with Type 1 need insulin injections to help their body function properly
  • Gestational Diabetes – This is Diabetes that happens during pregnancy. It is usually lasts for only the length of the pregnancy
Services are available for:

  • Type 1 Diabetes
  • Paediatrics (children)
  • Diabetes in pregnancy and gestational diabetes
