Chemotherapy

The Dr. Andrew C. Vermeer Chemotherapy Suite at Headwaters Health Care Centre opened in 2003. Headwaters’ Chemotherapy Program is affiliated with the Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre located at Credit Valley Hospital. Oncologists from Credit Valley Hospital provide care for patients while on chemotherapy at Headwaters Orangeville site.

The Dr. Andrew C. Vermeer Chemotherapy Suite was designed to enhance patient comfort while they are undergoing chemotherapy treatment. The suite includes a private bathroom for cancer patients, a kitchenette to allow for food preparation for patients and families, and audiovisual equipment for patient education. There are six treatment stations and the capacity to add another station when necessary.

The suite is the result of generous financial support from the community, including Dr. Vermeer’s colleagues and co-workers at the Orangeville Family Medical Clinic, Gord Plumridge and staff and students at Centre Dufferin District High School, Gord Davenport Automotive, the Order of the Eastern Star of Caledon East, and hundreds of individual donors.
