Dufferin Emergency Services and Headwaters
Health Care Centre Draw 'Blood' to Help Local Patients
Orangeville, ON –
Employees of Headwaters Health Care Centre and Dufferin Emergency
Services including Fire, Paramedics and Police are rolling up their
sleeves to help patients who require blood. Dufferin Emergency Services
and Headwaters have joined together as Partners for Life with Canadian
Blood Services. “We’ve challenged ourselves to reach a yearly goal of
donate over 120 units of blood. That could save 360 lives in 2009,” says
Kent Moore, Chief of Police, Shelburne Police Service.
Staff donating as part of the Partners for Life Program can donate at
any blood donor clinic. For information on clinics in the area, for
eligibility information and to book an appointment, please call

“If one donor can save three lives, just imagine how many lives we can
save by donating together and encouraging other businesses to become a
Partner for Life,” says Cholly Boland, President and CEO at Headwaters.
“As individuals, we know the sense of accomplishment each of us feels
when we donate. When we donate as a team, we magnify that feeling
throughout our entire organization!” In 2008, Headwaters Health Care
Centre required 2272 units of blood.
Lilet Raffiñan, Clinic Development Coordinator, Canadian Blood Services
adds, “More lives are being saved all across Canada. Everyone wins when
these ‘corporate heroes’ step up to help those in need.”
The Partners for Life Program is designed for groups, businesses and
organizations wanting to make a commitment to saving lives by donating
