Headwaters Signs Service Agreement with WOHC
and Welcomes New Physicians at November Board Meeting
Orangeville, ON –
At the November meeting
of the Board of Directors of Headwaters Health Care Centre, members
participated in the hospitals flu campaign encouraging all staff,
physicians, volunteers and board members to receive the influenza
vaccine.
At the meeting the Board took note of the hospital’s digital mammography
opening which will provide service to women in Dufferin-Caledon area and
other nearby communities.
The Board welcomed Dr. Kenji Miyata to the Department of Anaesthesia,
Dr. Atul Joshi to the Department of Internal Medicine and Dr. Michael
Stefanos to the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. “The Board is pleased
to welcome these physicians to Headwaters and to Dufferin-Caledon,” says
Margot Hornseth, Chair of the Board of Directors.
The hospital reported to the Board it has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding with William Osler Health Centre (WOHC) to provide services for
patients with serious mental health conditions to be transferred to
Brampton Civic Hospital.
During the meeting, the Board examined the hospital’s strategic
planning process and will review this over the next several months.
The Board also received an update on the
Foundation’s annual gala dinner auction
scheduled for May 2, 2009 and the kick-off of the annual
‘hospital family’
donation campaign. The Orangeville Auxiliary reported a successful Candy
Cane Fair was held on November 22, 2008. The Board extends its thanks
to the community for its ongoing support of the hospital and the
foundation.
The public is invited to attend the Headwaters Board of Directors
meetings. The next Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 27,
2009 at 7:15 p.m. at Headwaters Health Care Centre.
