Announcement
Headwaters
Health Care Foundation
my.hospital@work
Businesses
from across the Dufferin-Caledon area are tapping into their creative
juices to participate in the my.hospital@work
campaign during the week of May 28-June 1.
The
fundraising campaign is targeted at the employees and staff of businesses
in the Dufferin-Caledon area, and the proceeds will be used to purchase
new equipment for Headwaters Health Care Centre.
"Because
the government does not generally provide funding for our hospital
equipment purchases," says Bob Baynham, President and CEO of
Headwaters Health Care Centre, "we rely on the generosity, and in
this case the creativity, of local people to raise the $1 million needed
each year to replace and upgrade equipment.
"Every
wheelchair, bedside monitor, surgical instrument – every tool used in
the care and treatment of our patients – must be purchased with money
raised in the community."
Businesses
will provide the creativity and fundraising while Headwaters Health Care
Foundation will provide the posters and buttons so businesses can show the
community what they are doing to support local health care.
Local
schools and golf courses have also been invited to participate in the
campaign through my.hospital@school
and golfing.fore.my.hospital,
respectively.
The
Orangeville Banner is the media sponsor for the campaign and will run a
series of ads, photographs and stories highlighting various inventive and
inspired events. Awards will be presented to the groups that come up with
the most creative ideas or raise the most funds.
The
campaign will begin with a Kick-Off Cocktail reception on Wednesday, April
25.
