The Beat Goes On
10th Annual Event Raises
$315,000 for Headwaters Health Care Centre
It broke
all the records! The Beat Goes On, the 10th Annual
Dinner and Auction in support of Headwaters Health Care Centre was the
most successful hospital gala evening yet, raising over $315,000 to
support excellent local health care.
It took
the effort and involvement of many: 80 volunteers, 478 guests, 34
sponsors and donors, 190 live and silent auction and balloon burst
donors, 24 donors of food, beverages and decor, 26 catering and bar
staff, 14 entertainers, sound and light technicians, our emcee former
Premier David Peterson, and our auctioneer, Bob Severn.
A
special thanks to the volunteer dinner committee members who worked
tirelessly throughout the year to make certain no detail was overlooked.
The
proceeds of the evening will be directed towards the purchase of new
equipment at the hospital. As the government does not generally fund
Headwaters’ equipment needs, well over $1 million must be raised each
year from the Dufferin-Caledon community.
Since
this event began 10 years ago, over $1.5 million has been raised for the
purchase of new medical equipment for Headwaters Health Care Centre.
“We are
absolutely delighted with this evening,” said Bob Baynham, President and
CEO, Headwaters Health Care Centre. "It is wonderful to see such an
outpouring of support from our community. The funds raised by this
incredible event will help Headwaters provide the best possible health
care and services to everyone in our community. It was both a wonderful
success and a wonderful party.”
Headwaters Health Care Centre has a simple but powerful vision:
patient-centred, compassionate care in the face of change. Headwaters is
dedicated to improving the quality of life for our community by offering
access locally to health care services in a caring, welcoming and
professional way.
