Urgent
Needs 2010-2011
The government does not provide funding to Headwaters
for the purchase
of new equipment.
And so,
every
wheelchair, surgical instrument, bed side monitor, ultrasound machine –
every tool used in the care and treatment of our patients – must be
purchased through the generosity of people in our community. It's only
through the caring support of the community that we continue to have a
well-equipped hospital.
This year the hospital needs to purchase over $1.5 million in new
equipment.

What can you do to help? Please support your hospital by making a
donation today. Your gift, regardless of size, will help ensure we can
provide you and your loved ones with the best possible care when you
need us the most.
How does
the Foundation decide what it will buy?
The
Foundation relies upon the Hospital's Management, staff and physicians
to determine exactly what the Hospital needs. Each year the
Hospital undertakes a capital budgeting process, which identifies it's
equipment and facility needs. Each identified need is then ranked
in order of priority. This list is provided to the Foundation and
together, we negotiate how many of the priority items can be funded
annually. The Foundation's primary role is to operate fundraising
programs that will meet the funding targets in any given year and to
work with the Hospital to ensure out donor's money is spent on it's
intended use. |
