Message from the Chair of the Board and Executive Director of Headwaters
Health Care Foundation
Neighbours
looking out for neighbours – it’s what makes a community vibrant and
strong. Despite the challenges many in our community experienced this
year, no where is this sense of individuals coming together for the
greater good better exemplified than through the generosity of those who
support Headwaters Health Care Foundation.
Each year, thousands
of people in our community turn to Headwaters Health Care Centre for
their medical care. But because the government does not provide funding
for the purchase of equipment, financial support from donors fuels every
hospital equipment purchase, which allows our medical staff to provide
high quality care using state-of-the-art technology and resources. In
turn, having access to leading edge medical technology is an essential
component in attracting new physicians, specialists and health care
providers to our area.
Whether you have
participated in our signature Annual Dinner and Auction or attended one
of the many local events organized in the community, become a member of
the
Headwaters’ Circle of Friends
leadership society, remembered the Foundation in your will, made a gift
in memory or in honour of a loved one, committed to making a monthly
gift, or contributed a single gift to support the purchase of capital
equipment, your philanthropy has made a direct impact on the ongoing
health of our community.
Thanks to the
individuals, businesses, service clubs, community groups and other
partners such as our Hospital Auxiliary members and Hospital Family
donors, Headwaters Health Care Foundation was pleased to grant
$1,396,679.63 to the Headwaters Health Care Centre for the purchase of
equipment prioritized in 2008-2009 by the hospital. It would not have
been possible without the financial commitment of so many in our
community, and it is an accomplishment of which we can all be extremely
proud.
We, along with the
other members of the Headwaters Health Care Foundation Board of
Directors and Staff, appreciate your ongoing support. We take our role
as the good stewards of your generosity very seriously and consider your
trust in our sound financial management an honour. It is a privilege to
work with you, our donors, to continue to support our hospital in its
mission to provide patient-centred, compassionate care…close to home.
